The famous Spanish City in Whitley Bay … Scream if you want to go faster!
Fun for everyone!
Fun for everyone at the Spanish City Summer Funfair this bank holiday as the annual funfair returns to the coast of the North East.
The family fun fair, ran by Turners Funfairs, features traditional favourites including dodgems, waltzers and many more!
Located on The Links in Whitley Bay, it is a short Metro trip up the coast from Longsands Lodge just next to the new Spanish City, where you can find some of the best ice cream and fish & chips in the North East.
As well as the classic fun fair rides, there will be endless entertainment for the little ones, including games stalls like hook-a-duck and bungee trampolines!
A bit of History on the Spanish City Playground …
The major attraction was founded in 1910, becoming a well-recognised landmark both locally and nationally as people would travel to the coast of the North East to enjoy family days out.
Upon its closure at the Spanish City, the council officers of Whitley Bay recognised the importance of the fairground and decided to institute a travelling fair on The Links as a replacement.
